Sermon Note #12

Sermon note: In the familiar story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, one interesting detail is often overlooked. When thrown into the fiery furnace, the Bible never says that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego saw a fourth man in the fire with them; it says that King Nebuchadnezzar saw the fourth man in the fire, and the form of the fourth was "like the Son of God." (Daniel 3:25)

In my own life, when I'm being tried by fire, I may not always see Jesus there in the fire with me. I may not understand His purpose or feel His presence. But that doesn't mean He isn't there. 

Perhaps my trial is an opportunity for someone else to see God.
