Sermon Note #11

Sermon note:  I can't carry the weight of the world on my shoulders, but I trust that God can carry the weight of the world on His shoulders. 

In one of my favorite Peloton classes, the workout instructor - who has an infectious enthusiasm - exclaims "It's heavy out there, friends. The world needs our joy, our energy, our passion. Don't hide that shit!" 

I've been thinking about her words almost daily since I first took that class a few months back.

It is heavy out there. I'm overcome with emotion when I hear about the horrible things that happen in our world - child abuse, animal abuse, school shootings, violent crimes - but I must hand over my grief to God otherwise it will burn me out. We're called to be a light in the darkness.

The world needs our joy, our energy, our passion. Don't hide that shit!
