Summer Highlights!

We had a fun-filled summer and I wanted to share a bit of it here on the blog as we wrap up the season and head into the school year. This summer reminded me a bit of the Covid quarantine months back in 2020 due to the fact that I currently have no boss (same as March-July 2020 during a CFO transition). While I stayed busy at work and was working in the office most days, I just felt like I had much more flexibility overall.

Cam attended our church day camp most days and that worked really well for us this summer. He loved it! We enjoyed lots of pool time on the weekends, made it to church most Sundays, went to the beach three times, and Brian and I enjoyed a weekend in Denver.

Overall, the summer has felt very relaxed. Not sure I'll be able to say the same next year!

When you have to stop at the grocery store after the pool to pick up Father's Day supplies! No shoes, no shirt, no problems...

We made it to Falls Lake for an afternoon of fishing. We didn't catch anything this day, but we had a lot of bites!

Every Saturday in July I took Sasha to a Canine Good Citizen class for training. She was tested on the last day and passed with flying colors!

I've had this cross-stitch planned since I purchased a kit three years ago! I finally got motivated and completed it this summer for baby girl's nursery (which is actually just going to be a closet, lol).

We had a family reunion of sorts in Virginia at Mountain Valley Brewery to celebrate my great aunt's 90th birthday.

Still making sugar cookies on occasion!

We ended the last week of summer with a family vacation at the Outer Banks. This year our house was in Corolla, a few houses down from the beach. We enjoyed it so much! Cam came home with two hermit crabs and we spent one day at the water park, H2OBX, which was a blast!

Summer is my favorite season, but as I get older I'm enjoying each different season more and more. I am looking forward to the transition into fall and all of the exciting things to come in this next chapter.
