Fall Bucket List
I'm being optimistic in creating this Fall Bucket List because most days I feel like I might go into labor at any minute, but here's to hoping I make it at least 8 more weeks!
I told Brian recently that I want to savor my three month maternity leave and not do much of anything this winter except focus on our newborn daughter, so I have a rather lengthy to-do list for autumn before I go into hibernation mode.
Most of our family holidays fall in the month of November, so it will take some planning to shift these celebrations up a few weeks to ensure we fit them in. As you'll see below, I plan to cram a lot in these next two months if I can!
Autumn Bucket List
*Go on a date with Brian to celebrate our 11 year wedding anniversary (November 3) a few weeks early
*Pups at the Pool with Pippa
*Celebrate Cam's 8th birthday (November 16) with a birthday party in October.
*Annual Myrtle Beach trip with the Murray family
*Day trip to Black Mountain with family. We love going here in the fall season and tooling around the quaint downtown.
*Host friends in our home for an autumn party with chili, cornbread, seasonal beer tasting. This will replace my annual Christmas holiday party that we've been hosting for the past few years.
*Go to a haunted house with Cam and Brian. We took Cam last year and he LOVED it! He is big on Halloween. :)
*Go to the Pumpkin Express at the Museum of Life and Science (tickets already purchased!) and also Hill Ridge Farms in Wake Forest. It's been probably 7 years since we have been to Hill Ridge Farms and I've always loved it for kids.
*Go trick-or-treating with Cam in our neighborhood. Three guesses as to what his costume might be this year and the first two don't count....
*Go to the Efland Rodeo
*Peddle boats at a nearby lake or Pullen Park
*The NC State Fair, probably my favorite fall tradition of them all!
*Go to the state Farmer's Market one weekend morning and have breakfast at the Farmer's Market restaurant
*Decorate house and front porch with pumpkins & mums and put out my annual October decorations (just a few spooky things).
*Set up the nursery (i.e. closet) and get everything prepared for baby girl's arrival
*Complete a 1,000 piece fall puzzle
*Hang out with Erin & Ame and kiddos for a little get-together since we haven't all been together since Christmas!
Make the following Fall recipes:
- Autumn-themed sugar cookies with royal icing
-My grandma's Pumpkin Sheet Cake
-My grandma's fried apple hand pies
-roasted pumpkin seeds (although I'm the only one in my family that enjoys these!)
