New Blog, Old Blog, Life, and Other Crap.

As you probably noticed, I was on a month long vacation from my blog.

I will tell you why:

1. I started a new job and it was a bit overwhelming.

2. I got a new puppy and it was a bit overwhelming.

3. I was averaging 250 readers per day, which is a bigger audience than I had ever imagined for my little blog; however, I was feeling pressure to write every single day.

4. I began getting hurtful and mean comments on my blog, which comes with the territory I suppose. (These comments are outnumbered by the comments that are encouraging, nice, and make me smile.)

5. I was getting home late, taking care of the new puppy, cooking dinner, baking 2 cakes per night, losing my temper with everyone around me, and then blogging.

It got a lot overwhelming.

So finally I just said "Screw it!" and I abandoned the blog. It was the best decision I made all month.

Work finally settled down, Otis finally settled in, and I began saying "no thanks" to the things I didn't want to do.

I've finally had time to rejuvenate and reevaluate. I enjoy blogging. It's basically a public journal, and it's a great way to keep family and friends up to date with the happenings of my life.

But I've decided to scale back.

I've decided to go back to using Blogger as my host (though it has less opportunity for creative design, it's much more user friendly than WordPress). I've decided to put The Sweet Tooth Bakery on hold for now, although I'm still actively baking cakes for my friends.  I've decided to re-focus my energy on the things that matter to me - my family, my job, my boyfreind, my friends, my dogs - so sometimes blogging just isn't at the top of my "to do" list.

While I can't dedicate the same amount of time to blogging and baking as I had in the past, I am going to continue to regularly blog on a different site. This site will be www.thestrawberryscoop.blogspot.com.

I hope you will continue to follow me on this new site.

Here's an emotional and heartfelt farewell from me to you:

To everyone that has asked me why I haven't blogged lately: Thank you. I needed your encouragement to get the ball rolling again.

To Ben at Empowered Designs: Thank you for creating my website, working with me on all the details, and having patience each time I changed my mind about what I wanted.

To Colby and Otis: What would my life be without you?

To Brian and Mom, thanks for being my original biggest fans. I love you to the moon and back.

So long for now, Sweet Tooth.
