2016 Highlights

Wow, what an unforgettable year 2016 has been.

To be honest, it started off pretty miserably. The transition from zero to one child was unexpectedly difficult. Now I feel like I'm over the hump and could easily have more kids, but zero to one...WHOA. What a ride it has been.

This year has definitely been a year of growth and change. It's hard to articulate, but overall I feel...
- Less patient
- More confident
- Less worrisome
- More generous

The thing that stands out to me the most this year is the amount of support I've gotten from my family. I've always been close to my parents, but I have relied on them more than ever before and they have really been my rock. I'm pretty sure they kept me from jumping off a cliff on numerous occasions. :)

Another thing that stands out is how sick I have been this year! I'm usually never sick, but I've been through two major stomach viruses and other minor illnesses this year. Cam has not been sick at all, which makes me think I gave him all of my immunity when he was born!

Despite being sick (again!) for these final two weeks of the year, I'm ending 2016 on a high note.

When I look back at certain moments this year, I can definitely say it's been one of the happiest times of my life, mostly thanks to this young man, God's gift to the world:

"The message is simple: When you come to one of the many moments in life when you must give an account of yourself, provide a ledger of what you have been, and done, and meant to the world, do not, I pray, discount that you filled [my] days with a sated joy, a joy unknown to me in all my prior years, a joy that does not hunger for more and more, but rests, satisfied. In this time, right now, that is an enormous thing.”
