May Goals
April was not the month I expected to have. It was clouded by the death of Pippa, which has been incredibly hard for me to shake. Hoping May will get back to some sense of normalcy.
Cam's school year is winding down - he has a field trip, field day, and the EOGs later this month as he wraps up the 4th grade. I'm starting to think ahead to our summer plans. This is his last week of baseball.
I listened to my very first audiobook over the past two weeks - "The Let Them Theory" by Mel Robbins. Brian encouraged me to listen to it to hear the author's stories in her own words. While I liked the audiobook option for some things (e.g. it was nice to have it playing in the background while I decorated cookies one day or in the car on occasion), I would say I prefer actually reading a book. There were times where I would have picked it up to read it had it been in book form, but since I didn't have the physical copy, I just had to sit outside and listen to it. Overall, great message and great book. Glad that I "read" it!
This month we are planning to go to Busch Gardens/Williamsburg with the family. I'm going to be paying close attention to the weather, and may abort the plan if there is anything other than three days of perfect 80 degree, sunny weather, ha! I learned my lesson the hard way after a previous failed family vacation in March to Boone, NC. I had low expectations for that trip, and - as it turned out - I should have had even lower expectations, lol.
May Goals
1. Potentially make a decision on my job should the opportunity present itself to change roles. Literally make a pro/con list. I knew this was coming down the pipeline and we'll see what happens. I love my current gig and the freedom it gives me, especially as a mom, but I also loved my former life working on the executive team at Duke. Praying for wisdom for any future decision I need to make.
2. Get my wardrobe down to one closet! This one scares me, but I'm a minimalist and it pains me to have so many clothes but always feeling like I have nothing to wear.
