June Goals
Long time no blog.
Only two more days of 4th grade for Cam and we are feeling ready for the bliss of summer freedom!
Work has been relatively busy. Still no movement on the potential job change front, but feeling fairly relaxed and settled in my current role, so worrying less about it than I was a month ago. I've been thinking a lot about how I want our summer to look and feel, and grateful I have a job that allows me plenty of breathing room.
On the Calendar This Month
1. My Alzheimer's research study medical appointment. While not exactly exciting, I am excited that I get the opportunity to contribute to research in a personal and profound way, while also monitoring my own brain health.
2. Hamilton date night with Brian and also looking forward to a downtown Durham Dinner & Drinks tour with Taste Carolina which has great reviews.
3. A week at the Outer Banks!
4. Summer JAM, our church's Vacation Bible School, which is always a busy but fun week!
What I Read in May
1. Theo of Golden. This book got a lot of publicity and strong reviews, but fell a bit short for me.
2. Finished 1 Samuel
What I'm Loving Lately
I had a free personal training session at the gym a couple weeks ago and got to learn a lot of new-to-me weight machines. Of course I got busier at work these past two weeks so the gym has slipped more than normal, but I am excited to get a new routine going with my new knowledge!
Goals for June
1. Decide on my job (or possibly not decide and have it decided for me, which wouldn't exactly be a bad thing).
2. Set aside time to think. I have many random, disorganized thoughts and ideas (about parenting, marriage, work, personal goals, friendships, gym routines, writing, etc.) and I need to spend more designated time thinking about how to plan, executed, and organize these thoughts into action.
3. Enjoy the first month of summer!
