Spicy Sausage Pasta

I started dating Brian around the same time that I developed an interest in cooking and baking. Unfortunately, Brian is one of the pickiest eaters that I know!

99% of the recipes that I come across are not suitable for our mealtimes because Brian does not like fruit or vegetables. He does not like potatoes. He does not like anything green, anything with a weird texture, anything breaded, anything mild.

Here is a sample conversation between me and Brian:

"What's for dinner?" -Brian

"I'm making lasagna." -Kelly

"I hate lasagna." -Brian

It only took me a short time to realize that Brian will claim to "hate" everything, so we usually eat the same three meals on a rotating basis.

I still continue to search for recipes I think Brian and I will both enjoy, especially for those times where we get stuck in a rut eating the same thing over and over again. I was psyched to come across a recipe for Spicy Sausage Pasta from Kevin and Amanda's blog. I love Amanda's blog so much! Great pictures, honest writing, and amazing photography.

This recipe seemed like it could be a potential winner.

Spicy....Check.

Sausage...Check

Pasta....Check.

And plus it looked really delicious in the picture.

I followed the recipe with only one exception: Brian requested that I use the Rotel with Habaneros.

Overall, it was a tasty dish that was easy to assemble! Of course, it still wasn't spicy enough for Brian's taste so he had to add some extra heat in the form of ghost peppers.

I don't know the key to a successful dinner, but the key to failure is trying to please Brian. ;-)
